Front Door Sessions

THE WHat

Are you missing out on Fresh 48 or newborn photos because of this 2020 global pandemic? Need a pick-me-up or an activity for the whole fam? Maybe you just want to support your local Chicagoland small-business photographer and families in your area who’s lives have been affected by COVID-19.

I want to give you a reason to look back on these days and smile :)

Book a mini photo session with me, Sandy, for ZMUDA Photography’s Front Door Series!

Here’s what you get:

• 15-min session at your front door/in your front yard

• 7 edited full-resolution photos of your choosing included (additional photos available for purchase upon receiving viewing gallery)

  ** Sessions will be photographed using a long zoom lens, so I will always be at least 6 feet away at all times. I’m happy to wear an N95 mask and/or stay in the car if it makes you feel more safe. **

Dress up, dress down, get crafty and create a theme for your session, or simply show up at your front door and show me your smiles. This is just a fun way to spend some time and be able to have something positive to look back on! Once you’re booked, I’ll send you Pinterest boards with inspiration photos to get those juices flowing.

These sessions will only be available for sign-up between 4/25 - 4/29/20.

Sessions will be scheduled for 5/4 - 5/10/20 OR 5/4 - 5/17/20 (depending on how many are booked).

** However, if you will be giving birth in the next few months and would prefer to book your session now and have it done after the baby arrives, we can absolutely arrange that. Let me know in the form on the next page. **

THE WHy

It’s no secret that these have been some strange and trying times with the worldwide spread of COVID-19.

Throughout everything that has been happening, I started seeing a lot of couples and friends out there being pregnant and giving birth… and it got me thinking, like, HOLY COW...I can barely imagine having to go see a doctor or be in a hospital during these times, and there are people out there having BABIES and bringing new life into the world!!! I couldn’t help but wonder how their experiences were shaped by the pandemic, and how scary it must have been for some.

Around the same time, a friend reached out to me about a couple she knew. They were getting ready to have their baby and were pretty devastated to find out that they’d be missing out on Fresh 48 photos at the hospital. On top of that, they were having trouble finding a photographer that was comfortable meeting with them for photos. She wondered if I would feel comfortable doing a session for them.

Of course there were safety concerns when I thought about doing this, but I wanted so bad to do something special for these new parents. They were looking forward to those photos of their newborn, and because of the global pandemic, that whole experience had been taken from them, and I had the power to help them. I wanted to hear their story if they were willing to share, and I wanted to bring them joy and something positive to look back on for their birthing experience (beyond, of course, the birth of their little miracle!).

And thus, the Front Door Series was born! The name pretty much says it all. This was a way for me to come document these first days of baby and give families gorgeous photos to last a lifetime without ever having to step foot in their homes and without asking them to leave. Plus, I’d use my zoom lens so I never even had to get closer than 6 feet away - totally social distancing approved! I got SO excited about the thought of how much everyone wins!

Then I realized that maybe their were also people out there who weren’t starting or growing their families, but could still use a pick-me-up or fun activity, so I decided to extend the offer to all couples and families living together in the Chicagoland areas! I thought this could as well be a great way to give someone who may or may not be struggling a gift and that reason to smile right now.

I figured if people can’t go anywhere, why not have the fun come to them?! Why not give them an affordable experience and a photo to document their life, love and strength during one of the craziest times in their lives?

No reason at all. So let’s do this!
